Steelers should target Will Fuller

Perceived as a strength for this team for the longest time, receiver has now become more of a question mark as Pittsburgh prepares to lose two of their top four threats at the position. The main loss will be JuJu Smith-Schuster, as the physical slot receiver will likely try out a new team next season. That will leave a huge hole that this team will have to build around.

Luckily there are quite a few promising receivers entering free agency. A great fit for a slot option has to be Will Fuller. The former first-round pick was once an up-and-coming receiver, but a suspension with the Texans followed by an almost non-existent season with the Dolphins has left him with more questions than answers. While he has a lot of risk as a free agent, that should keep his cost down and make him affordable.

On a cheap one- or two-year deal, Fuller could come in and over the team a bit more speed and playmaking ability out of the slot. As well, he could also line up at outside receiver in a pinch and contribute there. While his recent track record isn’t great, that should make him cheap enough to sign. The Steelers have to be interested in him, as his affordability and talent could make him a sneaky good fit for the team.
