Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love & trade for Gardner Minshew

The Green Bay Packers’ time to move on from Aaron Rodgers has come.

There’s obviously not any sort of guarantee of this and the Packers have tried to repair their relationship with the reigning back-to-back MVP.

Ultimately, will that really be enough?

Rodgers’ issues seem much more deeply rooted than the front office giving in to a trade for Randall Cobb, but maybe I’m misreading the situation.

The Packers did invest in Jordan Love. They have to have had some kind of plan in place that included the possibility of Aaron Rodgers leaving or retiring by this point.

There are some who believe the Packers will figure out a way to resolve their issues with Rodgers and make him the highest-paid player in league history. If that was the issue, though, wouldn’t it be done already?

I suppose time will tell.

For the purposes of this exercise, let’s get crazy and predict that Rodgers is traded. Where? We’ll talk more about that later.

With Jordan Love stepping into a starting role, I think the Packers would be wise to make a deal for another QB and Gardner Minshew is pretty underrated. He’s a backup for the Eagles right now but I think he’s good enough to start for someone.

If Love is shaky or just flat-out bad, Minshew could step in and be an intriguing dart throw for Matt LaFleur’s team.
