New Orleans Saints: Re-sign Jameis Winston, Draft Matt Corral

This would be the all-injury risk QB group for the New Orleans Saints in 2022.

Jameis Winston was playing really well for this team before an ACL injury that prematurely ended his season. With Sean Payton gone, how much will that impact Winston’s decision of whether or not to re-sign with the Saints?

As of the time of this writing, the Saints don’t have an offensive coordinator. Whoever new head coach Dennis Allen picks for that job is going to play a factor in whether or not Winston is retained, but that is still a move that makes sense on paper.

The Saints won’t be able to shove all their chips in the middle of the Jameis Winston table, however. They are going to need a contingency and maybe an expensive one in terms of draft capital.

Although Matt Corral is also coming off of an injury, I like the idea of the Ole Miss starter going to the Saints and giving them a playmaker at the position.

Corral was put in some really favorable positions by the Ole Miss coaching staff but his talent is translatable with some time to develop.
