The Jacksonville Jaguars dodged a bullet with the Urban Meyer hire, at least for the time being. That hire was a disaster from the very start and an extremely unwise move by Jacksonville management.

Now, somehow, the team has backed into a situation where they were able to hire the only coach on the open market who has won a Super Bowl as a head coach in the league.

And he did it recently.

Doug Pederson gets plenty of flak but he was a good coach who built a pretty darn good staff in Philadelphia. He’s now going to be tasked with getting Trevor Lawrence on the right track, and I think Jaguars fans should feel pretty good about the situation they are now in.

Just like a number of other young quarterbacks on this list, the Jaguars need to do everything in their power to make the situation around Lawrence better. They have an opportunity to invest in the offensive line early and often in the 2022 NFL Draft and I think we’ll see them take that opportunity.
