Derek Carr landing spot No. 2: Washington Commanders

In the spirit of getting Carr out of the AFC and sending him about as far away from Las Vegas as possible, how about the Washington Commanders?

So much has been made about the team’s name change, and rightfully so. Not enough to-do has been made of the team’s lingering quarterback issue just one year after the not-so-great signing of Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The Commanders need a new quarterback to go with their new identity, and that quarterback could wind up being Derek Carr.

There are plenty of very intriguing pieces already in place in Washington. Ron Rivera is a good coach, and the team has superstars on both sides of the ball in wide receiver Terry McLaurin and pass rusher Chase Young, who was injured this past season.

With other key pieces on both sides of the ball in place, Carr could really be the missing piece for this Washington team.

They have managed to be pretty competitive the past couple of seasons despite their quarterback issues but adding a player like Carr who can give you consistently above-average play at the position would undoubtedly help Washington contend in the NFC East.
