Derek Carr landing spot No. 3: Pittsburgh Steelers

Again, trading Carr into the AFC may not exactly be the ideal scenario for the Raiders, but if you’re looking for teams that will make an aggressive trade package to acquire him, you may not have to look much further than the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Although it’s not really been Kevin Colbert’s MO to go out and make blockbuster trades, we have seen more of that in recent years from him.

The Minkah Fitzpatrick trade with the Dolphins was obviously very aggressive, but Colbert also made an aggressive move to move up in the 2019 NFL Draft for linebacker Devin Bush.

Of course, making an aggressive deal is also about timing.

If the Raiders put Derek Carr on the market, that’s something the Steelers would need to seriously think about.

From Carr’s perspective, this could be an outstanding move. The Steelers have some really good weapons on offense in Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, Najee Harris, and Pat Freiermuth. They are always looking at ways to upgrade their skill positions on offense and the foundation on defense is certainly in place with DPOY TJ Watt wrecking things for opposing QBs.

The Steelers should be very aggressive in replacing Ben Roethlisberger this offseason, which will be Kevin Colbert’s last in charge of the team.
