Dallas Cowboys Round 3 Pick: Zachary Carter, DT, Florida

With their third pick in this mock, the Dallas Cowboys go back to the defensive line as they add Zachary Carter from Florida. Carter is an intriguing prospect who stands 6-foot-5 and 285-pounds. He put up 17 sacks and 25 tackles for a loss in the past three seasons for the Gators as he proved to be a force as an interior pass-rusher.

However, he’s also had some experience on the edge as a defensive end. Like the first two picks in this defensive-only mock, Carter offers some impressive versatility that Dan Quinn will thoroughly enjoy. Having him to work alongside Neville Gallimore and Osa Odighizuwa could make the interior of this line one of their strengths.

Dallas Cowboys Round 4 Pick: Jaylen Watson, CB, Washington State

With their fourth-round pick, the Cowboys turn their attention back to the secondary by taking Jaylen Watson from Washington State. While Watson is mainly a zone corner, he does have the ability to play man and he’s got enough physical ability to be a problem in press coverage as well as in the run game.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 2014-pounds, he has the measurements Dan Quinn loves in his corners and he showed off solid ball skills with three pass defenses and two picks as a senior. He won’t be ready to play from day one but could be a developmental player with a lot of upside.
