Philadelphia Eagles target no. 2: Dalton Risner, OG

Before the 2019 NFL Draft, just about every Denver Broncos fan was hoping the team would land former Kansas State All-American Dalton Risner.

Risner is a Colorado native and had sprinted up to John Elway at the 2019 Senior Bowl to introduce himself.

Ultimately, fate would intervene and Risner would be drafted in the second round by the Denver Broncos, a lifelong dream fulfilled.

After a very solid rookie season, Risner has had two somewhat down years at least in terms of what everyone had expected from him. Perhaps he hasn’t been a great scheme fit for the past couple of seasons or maybe he’s just been doing a lot of helping young center Lloyd Cushenberry III. Whatever the case, if the Broncos are listening to offers on Risner, he could be a nice option for the Eagles.

With Jason Kelce retiring, the Eagles could move 2021 second-round pick Landon Dickerson back to the center position and insert a player like Dalton Risner into the left guard position. He will be due for a new contract in 2022 but if he plays well, this would be worthwhile gamble for the Eagles.
