Philadelphia Eagles target no. 3: Michael Ojemudia, CB
One of the position groups that seemed to be consistently poached from the Denver Broncos’ roster last season was at the cornerback position.
The Chargers at one point poached second-year slot corner Essang Bassey. The Broncos received calls about Bryce Callahan. The Philadelphia Eagles, in particular, poached Mac McCain III from the Denver Broncos at roster cuts, and then they traded for Kary Vincent Jr. later in the season.
Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon was an assistant defensive backs coach for a handful of years with the Minnesota Vikings, so perhaps there was a close relationship and many shared opinions between Gannon and Broncos GM George Paton on defensive back prospects.
Even though George Paton didn’t draft Michael Ojemudia, perhaps the former Iowa Hawkeyes stud and 2020 third-round pick could be an option to fortify the Eagles’ defensive backfield.
Ojemudia has outstanding size and deceptive athleticism, but he missed most of the 2021 season due to injury.
He started for the majority of his rookie season and with his baptism by fire, he could be ready for an increased role in 2022 and the Broncos have their outside cornerback positions handled.
