Green Bay Packers 3 prime destinations for Aaron Rodgers in 2022
By Sean Basile
Green Bay Packers-Aaron Rodgers destination no. 2. San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers are next up on the list.
Though they have lost their run game guru in Mike McDaniel to the Miami Dolphins, the 49ers still possess a Super Bowl-ready roster, coaching staff, and front office that is just seeking a quarterback who can get them there.
Trey Lance is the future, but the now is what the Niners are focusing on and Aaron Rodgers puts them in a better position to win a title than Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo do- mainly because of what San Fran always needed under Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch was a quarterback who wouldn’t turn the ball over. Had it not been for Jimmy G’s turnover problem, perhaps the Niners are world champs by now.
And, of course, Rodgers would be the antithesis of that holding a 1.3% interception rate in his career.
This is the team you want to go to if you’re Aaron Rodgers…in my opinion of course.
He’d be walking into a locker room ready to win a Super Bowl featuring an offense with one of the best wide receivers in the game right now in Deebo Samuel, one of the best tight ends in George Kittle, one of the best O-lines, and a run scheme that should still be effective even without the smoke-and-mirrors approach that Mike McDaniel brought.
The 49ers can stack up to just about any team in any area of its current roster and front office. Now they just need a captain to take over the helm.
Rodgers would be in a tough division with the Super Bowl-winning Rams, Kyler Murray, and Russell Wilson.
However, the Rams- like many other Super Bowl winners- are going to face a bit of a hangover at some point in 2022, the Cardinals are internally falling apart with the team and Kyler Murray not seeing eye-to-eye recently, and Russell Wilson, who is already carrying a weak Seahawks roster, could very well choose to leave Seattle if Rodgers comes to the division.
Two of Rodgers’s potential three opponents in the NFC West could have new quarterbacks by the start of the 2022 season.
There just aren’t very many negative things to say about the fit that would be Aaron Rodgers in San Francisco.
I think if he were to leave Green Bay, Aaron’s sights should be firmly set on the 49ers.
