16. Philadelphia Eagles Select: Jermaine Johnson DE Florida State

Rushing the passer has been a part of the Eagles’ recent success. Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham’s efforts have kept the Eagles’ defense from hitting rock bottom. Both defensive linemen are rising in age and will need a teammate who could alleviate the punishments that their positions bring.

With Brandon Graham’s Achilles injury still a concern, the need for another pass rusher should be a top priority.

Jermaine Johnson is a must-draft player for any team looking for a game-changing pass rusher. The power that his six-foot-five frame exerts presents a disadvantage for offensive tackles.

Throughout his college career at Florida State, Johnson has shown how versatile he can be in a defensive scheme. His experience playing linebacker during his freshman and sophomore year will stand out to NFL scouts who are looking for a multi-position franchise player.

Transforming into an elite defensive end was not an issue for Jermaine Johnson. When the team moved their star athlete to the defensive line of scrimmage, he responded by recording 11.5 sacks on the season.
