NFL teams in need of a star WR: Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts were arguably one of the biggest letdowns of the season, as far as teams that were expected to go far in the postseason.
They acquired former Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz in the offseason and subsequently lost their first three games of the season. They eventually built themselves back up, armed with MVP candidate running back Jonathan Taylor, and put themselves in a position to get into the playoffs.
After upset losses to the Raiders and Jaguars (too soon?) they were eliminated from playoff contention.
Many may assume in a fairly weak AFC South division the Colts would not need much to be in a position to take the top spot from the Tennessee Titans.
The Colts may not need much but they do require some additions in order to be successful. Their defense is excellent, they have a solid head coach in Frank Reich, a potent rushing attack with Taylor, however, they have made this list because their receiving corps is not where it needs to be.
Long-time Colt receiver TY Hilton is a free agent and unlikely to return along with Zach Pascal. Michael Pittman was their premier receiver however there are essentially no options behind him.
Parris Campbell, who was drafted in the second round of 2019, has been injured consistently since entering the league. The Colts have the playmakers they need on both sides of the ball but a dynamic receiver to compliment Pittman would put the Colts in a surefire plan to not only take control of the AFC South but also cement a spot in the postseason.
