3 2022 NFL Draft prospects that can rise to the top at NFL Combine
2022 NFL Draft Combine riser: Liberty QB Malik Willis
The quarterback class for the 2022 NFL Draft class is less captivating than it has been in recent drafts.
After examining the recent flow of mock drafts emerging from analysts, the consensus appears to be that it is possible a quarterback will not be taken in the top 10 of the first round of the draft. I believe there are 7 teams that hold picks in the top 12 that need a quarterback.
Liberty’s Malik Willis could make sure he falls to one of them if he puts on a dominant performance at the Combine.
Willis has the distinct ability to make himself stand out amongst the other quarterbacks, such as Kenny Pickett (Pittsburgh) or Matt Corral (Ole Miss) by not only having the strongest arm, but his athletic ability is the best of the group.
Willis should place a strong emphasis on highlighting his athleticism at the Combine by excelling in the 40, vertical jump, broad jump, and shuttle run.
I expect Willis to be the top quarterback in all four of those events and then the positional drills will be a chance to show off improved accuracy and his ability to launch the deep ball.
Locked and loaded with a strong arm and blazing speed, Willis can turn the scouts’ heads in March and his Combine performance will absolutely be remembered in April when it’s time for these quarterback-needy teams to find an answer.
