2. Cincinnati Bengals

Hardly anyone saw the Cincinnati Bengals coming. Head coach Zac Taylor was on the hot seat when the season began and then he was a couple of seconds away from winning it all when it ended. Trailing by three, Ja’Marr Chase got free from Jalen Ramsey but Joe Burrow was hit by Aaron Donald, ending the game and giving the Rams a Lombardi Trophy.

Cincinnati still should be proud. They beat the Kansas City Chiefs twice and knocked off the top-seeded Tennessee Titans — and that was with a struggling offensive line. If they can get that figured out, this team could become a powerhouse for years to come.

1. Los Angeles Rams

It was a major swing and a major home run for the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Sean McVay wanted an upgrade under center and they traded Jared Goff and two first-round picks for veteran Matthew Stafford. They also traded premium picks for Von Miller in season and it all worked out as they were the ones standing on top of the mountain when all was said and done.

Los Angeles enters the season as champs and they’re the No. 1 team until proven otherwise. They also should have other teams considering their approach to team-building. While others hoard picks and try building through the draft, the Rams spent big for proven veterans and turned their team around in a hurry.

It might not be for everyone and we have yet to see how long it’s sustainable but right now, they’re the champs and that can’t be taken away.
