Jimmy Garoppolo destination no. 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Is it possible we could still see the prophecy fulfilled?

Could Jimmy Garoppolo still be the heir to Tom Brady‘s throne, but with the Buccaneers instead of the New England Patriots?

The Bucs haven’t ruled out bringing Tom Brady back in 2022 because Brady — as far as we know — hasn’t officially filed any retirement paperwork with the NFL.

Even if he had, that’s easy to undo.

But what if Brady is serious about retirement, even if just for this season?

I put the Buccaneers at number four on this list because I think Jason Licht and Bruce Arians would be aggressive, but there are so many other major question marks with this Bucs team right now that need to be handled.

What’s the future of Chris Godwin?

Center Ryan Jensen is a free agent.

Ali Marpet retired.

Rob Gronkowski is a free agent.

The list goes on and on. The Bucs sold their soul to contend for a title in 2020 and 2021, and it paid off. But now the dues are about to have to be paid. They miraculously kept most of the roster intact in 2021 but can that happen again in 2022?

I’m not so sure.

With so many roster questions and the cap situation needing to be figured out, I’m keeping the Buccaneers lower on the list but I still think they could figure it out and get Garoppolo in the fold if they were motivated to do so.
