Jimmy Garoppolo destination no. 3: Washington Commanders

I have the Washington Commanders at number three on this list even though I believe they will be one of the most aggressive teams in 2022 when it comes to attempting to upgrade the quarterback position.

The primary reason they are at number three is the fact that they are in the NFC.

The Commanders have proven to be pretty resilient with Ron Rivera as the team’s head coach, and they’ve made some playoff noise despite not having a solidified or even league-average QB situation.

With Garoppolo at the helm, I think the Commanders could be a 9 or 10 win team.

Do the 49ers really want to help an NFC foe get to the point of contention, especially when they might be competing for a Wild Card spot down the stretch of the season?

I’m just not sure that’s the best business practice.

From the Commanders’ perspective, making a push for Garoppolo makes sense and they have the capital as well as cap space to make it happen.

I’m sure they would love to sell the fan base with the new logo, new name, new uniforms, and a QB that has been to two out of the last three NFC Championship games, even if it’s just for one season.
