Jimmy Garoppolo destination no. 2: Pittsburgh Steelers

One of the destinations I think is most likely for Jimmy Garoppolo is the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers have plenty of cap space and with the roster they have in place, they would maybe be the team on this list most likely willing to part with their first-round pick if that’s what the 49ers required for Garoppolo.

I think getting a first-round pick is going to be tough for the 49ers, so that means they would have to settle for Pittsburgh’s second-round pick and perhaps a conditional pick after this season. The Steelers may really like some players at QB in the 2022 NFL Draft class and would blow their chance at acquiring one if they traded their first-round pick for Jimmy Garoppolo.

With that being said, the Steelers are a playoff team with a great defense and a fun, young nucleus of playmakers on offense.

They need to upgrade the offensive line, but this team has all of the pieces in place to really make sense as a destination for Garoppolo.

One of the reasons they are high on the list? The 49ers would be trading him out of the NFC completely and to a team with stability at head coach as well as a bright future when it comes to the roster.

Garoppolo could even potentially provide an upgrade over what Roethlisberger has been bringing the Steelers recently.
