Las Vegas Raiders: Stephon Gilmore, CB (Panthers)

The Las Vegas Raiders are going to have to go after some help at the cornerback position in free agency with the recent NFL Draft failures of Damon Arnette and even going a couple of years further back with Gareon Conley.

New general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels will bring the New England flavor to Sin City and with that tax-free income, they might be able to attract some big-name free agents.

Veteran Casey Hayward is also a free agent in 2022, so the Raiders are going to have to make some moves to upgrade the secondary.

Both Ziegler and McDaniels saw firsthand what kind of impact player Stephon Gilmore can be as he won Defensive Player of the Year as a member of the New England Patriots.

Although he’s older now, Gilmore is still capable of helping a team like the Raiders, who made the playoffs in 2022. In the AFC West, you can’t have enough guys that can get after the quarterback and make life tough on him in the secondary, and Gilmore can do exactly that.

He only played in nine games last season but still picked off a pair of passes for the Panthers, who acquired him in a trade.
