New England Patriots: Christian Kirk, WR (Cardinals)

During the 2021 offseason, the New England Patriots went berzerk in free agency, spending more money than I think any Patriots fan had seen in the last decade combined.

All exaggerations aside, it was a completely uncharacteristic spending spree for the Patriots and it paid dividends as they went from being out of the playoffs to back in with a rookie quarterback under center.

Signings like Matt Judon, Jonnu Smith, Kendrick Bourne, and Hunter Henry paid off in big ways for the Patriots, who finished 6th in the NFL in points scored and 2nd in points allowed.

Even after last year’s spending spree, I think the Patriots are going to make some additional moves to upgrade the offense and a player like Christian Kirk, coming off of a very underrated season with the Cardinals, could be a great fit.

Kirk had 982 yards on 77 receptions with five touchdowns this past season with the Cardinals and he could bring the Patriots a nice weapon out of the slot.

The former second-round pick out of Texas A&M and Scottsdale native would have to leave his hometown to join the Patriots, but he might be exactly the type of complementary weapon the Patriots offense needs for young Mac Jones.
