Minnesota Vikings: Austin Corbett, OG (Rams)

The Los Angeles Rams swung a trade for Austin Corbett, who was considered a bust for the Cleveland Browns in 2019.

Corbett shed the bust label and has been a solid starter for the Rams at the guard position.

With Kevin O’Connell and a host of other offensive coaches coming over to the Minnesota Vikings from the Los Angeles Rams, it stands to reason that a player or two could follow them to Minneapolis.

Corbett makes as much sense as any given the lack of consistency the Vikings have had at that position in recent years.

It doesn’t help that the Vikings gained absolutely zero clarity last year with third-round pick Wyatt Davis, who didn’t play at all for the team despite their obvious need at the position.

Is Davis a fit for the new regime? How are they supposed to evaluate him with no tape?

I think there’s a chance we could see the Vikings bring in a player like Corbett on a short-term deal and give Davis an opportunity to compete, but they already know what Corbett brings to the table and he could be an instant starter for them.
