2022 NFL Free Agency predictions for the AFC West

Kansas City Chiefs: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR (Steelers)

The Kansas City Chiefs will likely make their biggest move in free agency by re-signing left tackle Orlando Brown Jr.

Brown was acquired in a trade with the Ravens last offseason and he should be Kansas City’s top priority in 2022 after the debacle that was the Chiefs offensive line in Super Bowl LV.

After Brown, however, the Chiefs have a number of other decisions to make. As we have seen, this team is more than willing to go bargain shopping on either side of the ball to find guys to round out their roster, and many of those players have worked out well for them.

Melvin Ingram, anyone?

One of the positions the Chiefs have seemingly tried a number of times to upgrade but have failed is at wide receiver.

They tried hoarding Josh Gordon last year but nothing materialized with him and he didn’t make any significant contributions.

In the 2021 offseason, there were rumors that JuJu Smith-Schuster was actually really close to signing with the Chiefs over the Steelers but he decided to stay in Pittsburgh for another season. It’s safe to say he didn’t exactly enhance his value so the Chiefs might be able to get him in 2022 for a great price.
