Jacksonville Jaguars trade target no. 2: Dalton Risner, LG

One thing that never lacked attention in Doug Pederson’s time with the Philadelphia Eagles was the offensive line.

The Eagles set the bar high when it came to investing in the trenches, and that hasn’t really changed.

Even if emphasizing the trenches was more Howie Roseman’s doing than Pederson’s, it’s certainly something we can expect Pederson to emphasize heavily with the Jacksonville Jaguars because of the fact that Trevor Lawrence is going to need all the help he can get.

Dalton Risner has been the Broncos’ starting left guard since he was picked in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Broncos fans would probably have a really hard time with this one because Risner is a local product and fan favorite.

For the Jaguars, Risner could be a very worthwhile dart throw with just one year remaining on his rookie contract. The Broncos have 2021 third-round pick Quinn Meinerz ready to start at one of the guard positions. They have Graham Glasgow coming back off of injury on a restructured contract.

The Broncos also have 2020 draft pick Netane Muti who has shown starter potential at the guard position.

If there’s some value for Dalton Risner and the Broncos don’t view him as part of the long-term plans, the Jaguars could make plenty of sense with Andrew Norwell hitting free agency.
