Russell Wilson trade destination No. 1: Washington Commanders

It’s a new era in Washington as the Football Team will be taking the field with new uniforms and a new name— the Commanders.

The consensus around the Commanders is they have just about every facet of the team running like a well-oiled machine. Except for the quarterback position.

Head Coach Ron Rivera knows QB Taylor Heinicke isn’t taking this team to a Super Bowl. He’s a solid backup at best. He has been way too inconsistent to be a regular starter.

If the Commanders can bring in Russell Wilson via trade, it’s something they 100% need to do. Multiple reports have said Washington is desperately pursuing a new quarterback this offseason.

“I think this team needs a veteran,” Rivera told CBS Sports Josina Anderson while attending the 2022 NFL Combine.

There are few available veterans other than Russell Wilson. Aaron Rodgers might be the lone exception, but reports believe he’s going to return to Green Bay.

Wilson could take this team to a Super Bowl. They have a really talented defense and a 1,000-yard rusher and a 1,000-yard receiver returning next season.
