It’s been reported that the Dallas Cowboys are likely releasing Amari Cooper. Here are the top three landing spots should this happen.

Ever since we hit the offseason, it seemed likely the Dallas Cowboys would consider moving on from wide receiver Amari Cooper.

The reasoning can be seen as they are set to lose Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson, and Dalton Schultz in free agency, and moving on from Cooper’s contract might be the only way to keep from losing three highly-productive players.

Now at the Scouting Combine, Adam Schefter is reporting that it will probably come to fruition as he says he might be gone before March 20 when his $20 million becomes fully guaranteed.

If he is released, there will be quite a market for Cooper who has 7,076 yards and 46 touchdowns in his seven-year career. Here are three teams that could make a play for his services.

Amari Cooper landing spot No. 3: Los Angeles Chargers

Mike Williams is fresh off a monster year for the Los Angeles Chargers and is set for free agency. He became Justin Herbert’s favorite target in 2021 as he hauled in 76 receptions for 1,146 yards with nine touchdowns.

He could end up hitting the open market and if the Chargers are unable to keep him, Amari Cooper could end up being a solid Plan B. He’s a great route-runner who was really underrated in Dak Prescott’s evolution during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Putting him on the field with Herbert, who is already in the superstar conversation, could push him into the upper echelon.
