Dallas Cowboys Round 4 Pick: Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati

There have been several reports that the Cowboys are about to make a lot of moves at wide receiver. With Michael Gallup and Cedrick Wilson both hitting free agency, they’re apparently considering moving on from Amari Cooper which could help them retain both the free agents.

Cooper is still an elite playmaker but with CeeDee Lamb taking over as the No. 1 guy, they might go for the two-for-one and spread Cooper’s salary around. Whether that’s the case — or if they lose Gallup or Wilson — the Cowboys will need another wideout.

That’s why they land Alec Pierce in Round 4. The Cincinnati wideout stands in at 6-foot-3 and 213-pounds and can flat out fly. On Thursday night, he ran a 4.33 in the 40-yard dash.

Pierce put up 884 yards and eight touchdowns this past season. In this Dallas receiving corps, he could do some damage, especially if too much attention is paid to the rest of their playmakers.

Dallas Cowboys Round 5 Pick: Thomas Booker, DT, Stanford

There are two solid starters on the interior of the Dallas defensive line in Osa Odighizuwa and Neville Gallimore but they could use more depth. They go for that in Round 5 as they snatch up Thomas Booker from Stanford.

Booker is listed at 6-foot-4 and 310-pounds and recorded 20.5 tackles for a loss in his career as a Cardinal. He could wind up being a solid rotational piece in the pros.
