NFL free agency is a time for players to test the market, get paid, and in some cases, change teams. The players on this list should do all three.

NFL Free Agency is time for players to chase the bag. Guys who haven’t been paid are looking to cash in. Many of the top free agents will get tagged. Others will refuse it. There are a few ways to look at this upcoming free agent class and where these guys will land. When it comes to where they land, some guys will 100% look to cash, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Players looking to get paid should take this opportunity to do so. Other players, however, are looking for something more. In the end, it’s all about dollars and cents, but it should also be about sense. For the players on this list, they need a change of scenery for one of the aforementioned two reasons.

They need to get paid, or they should have a chance to chase a Super Bowl title. These are the players who should absolutely change teams this offseason.

NFL Free Agent no. 5: Casey Hayward, CB, should sign with the Indianapolis Colts

Corners aren’t easy to come by. Although this draft has a solid group, finding someone as polished as Heyward will be hard to come by. Especially for the teams picking late in the draft. Even more so for the Colts, who don’t pick until Day 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft. With that said, they’ll need someone like Heyward who’s comfortable playing in a zone-heavy scheme.

Heyward should be looking for a team that will allow him to maximize his skill-set while not asking him to be the guy. The Colts are that team for a couple of reasons. The first is their scheme. In 2017, Gus Bradley coached Casey Hayward during one of his best seasons as a pro. He made the Pro Bowl for the second time in his career under Bradley, who has the Colts defense playing lights out.

Heyward would be on a team where he can chase a championship. Though, a lot of that depends on Carson Wentz. At least Heyward would solidify their secondary with a veteran who still plays at a high level in a zone-heavy defense. The two-time Pro Bowl corner should have the Colts at the top of his list.
