3. Stephon Gilmore, CB, should sign with the Cincinnati Bengals

It’s amazing when you think about how Stephon Gilmore ended up on the Carolina Panthers. The New England Patriots traded Gilmore to the Panthers for a sixth-round pick. Gilmore wasn’t the same elite corner he was before the quad and groin injuries came into play. However, when healthy, he’s still one of the better man corners in the league.

There are a few reasons Gilmore should opt to leave the Panthers for the Bengals. Reason number one, the Panthers aren’t that good. He’s used to a winning franchise. Right now, the Panthers are struggling to find their identity.

The second reason, the Bengals have cap space and the potential to be in the playoffs once again. Eli Apple became a meme after Cooper Kupp beat him for a touchdown in the Super Bowl. Apple isn’t a bad corner, and Gilmore will be the missing piece to the secondary.

Gilmore can come in and trust that defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo will put him in the best position to succeed. The fourth-year defensive coordinator is known for his versatile scheme that plays to the strength of his players. It also doesn’t hurt that the Bengals have the second-most cap space in the league, so he’ll get the bag and win.
