NFL Free Agency 2022: Predicting where the top 100 players will sign
86. Anthony Barr, LB: Minnesota Vikings ➡️ Denver Broncos
I feel like this is a bit of a bold prediction, actually, as the Denver Broncos have three prominent in-house unrestricted free agent linebackers.
Anthony Barr, stylistically, might be pretty similar to what the Broncos have on their roster right now in Baron Browning, but he’s also a former first-round pick of the Vikings where George Paton was the right-hand man of Rick Spielman in the NFL Draft.
Not only that, but Barr and Paton share the bond of playing for the same high school in California as well as the same college at UCLA.
Given the Broncos’ need at the linebacker position and in the pass rush department, Barr could be a versatile pickup for new defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
85. Sebastian Joseph-Day, DL: Los Angeles Rams ➡️ Denver Broncos
Sometimes in free agency, coaching connections matter.
The Denver Broncos hired former Los Angeles Rams defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator Ejiro Evero as their new defensive coordinator, so Evero is very familiar with Joseph-Day, but so is new Broncos defensive line coach Marcus Dixon, who was an assistant defensive line coach with the Rams last year.
Those connections could be huge, and the Broncos need more help on the interior defensive line next to Shelby Harris and Dre’Mont Jones.
