NFL Free Agency 2022: Predicting where the top 100 players will sign
84. Robert Alford, CB: Arizona Cardinals ➡️ Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals have discovered the hard way in recent years — they can’t really afford to be picky at the cornerback position.
Robert Alford has played well for them, and with the scheme not changing (Vance Joseph returns), it’s easy to see Alford returning on another short-term deal.
Alford actually had a really good year in 2021 statistically, allowing a QB rating of just 81.7 into his coverage with a completion percentage under 58.
83. Kareem Jackson, S: Denver Broncos ➡️ Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings hired Ed Donatell as their new defensive coordinator, and Donatell spent the last few seasons as the defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos.
Although Donatell was more of a DC in Denver by title (Vic Fangio called the plays), he was instrumental in the game planning and coaching of the defensive backs.
In Fangio/Donatell’s first season on the job in Denver back in 2019, one of the first moves they made was to go out and sign Kareem Jackson in free agency. Jackson could join Donatell in Minnesota to play for a season alongside Harrison Smith and help be a communicator of the scheme to the other players there.
