Jordan Love trade destination no. 1: Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have been somewhat blessed by the fact that they have had the duo of Matt Ryan and Julio Jones and the fact that they both got to play together in their prime. While Matt Ryan is still in Atlanta, Julio Jones is now in Tennesee with the Titans. Unfortunately for Falcons fans, Matty Ice could be on his way out sooner than later.

Ryan has about two years left on his contract and should be the Falcons QB for next season, but with his cap hit being far less in 2023 and Ryan turning 38, it wouldn’t be too shocking to see Ryan end up somewhere else outside of Atlanta.

The only question would be who will replace Ryan once he gets cut or leaves Atlanta, and that may end up being Jordan Love. Of course, the Falcons could end up drafting a QB in this draft, which is a very real possibility, but it comes with the fact that this is a weak draft class for QBs.

The Falcons could also wait until the next draft to draft their QB of the future. While they could do that, it also comes with some inherent risk, that being the fact that the Falcons may be too good to end up getting a high-end draft pick.

The Falcons will likely be looking at CJ Stroud out of Ohio State or Bryce Young out of Alabama, but if the Falcons end up playing decent football, which is possible, they may end up in a bidding war to get one of them

What the Falcons could do is trade a day 2 pick or with day 3 pick added on and then wait to see how the 2023 season turns out, using Love as a backup plan of sorts. I know it sucks for Jordan Love to once again be in limbo, but it’s a serious possibility that could happen.
