Christian McCaffrey, NFL trade rumors
The Carolina Panthers arrived early morning July 27 to Wofford College in Spartanburg to prepare for the start of training camp this week. Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey takes questions from the media.Shj Panthers Camp Arrival01 /

Christian McCaffrey landing spot no 4. Arizona Cardinals

Would a trade for Christian McCaffrey appease the reportedly unhappy Kyler Murray? Giving the former No. 1 overall pick a dynamic weapon on offense like CMC would go a long way in showing Murray he’s the QB Arizona wants to roll with now and in the future.

McCaffrey (25) and Murray (24) are similar in age and would create headaches for opposing defenses for their ability to make athletic plays on the fly.

A trade for CMC would give the Cardinals the ability to push the LA Rams for pole position in the NFC West next season and beyond.

Both McCaffrey and Murray are under 6 feet in height, but does that really matter these days?

No 3. San Francisco 49ers

Another NFC West team that could have their sights on Christian McCaffrey is the 49ers.

San Francisco is a short 35 miles from the Stanford campus, a place CMC spent three years before becoming the No. 8 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Yes, the 49ers already have a really exciting player in RB Elijah Mitchell— he nearly rushed for 1,000 yards in his rookie season.

However, if San Francisco can hold on to Mitchell and trade for McCaffrey, they would have the best one-two punch at the running back position in the NFL.

Couple those running backs with Deebo Samuel and that’s one of the scariest offenses in the entire league.
