4 additional Seattle Seahawks stars that could be traded in 2022

2. Seattle Seahawks could trade Tyler Lockett
One of the premier slot receivers and returners in this league, Tyler Lockett has been a favorite target of Wilson’s for years. With Wilson out and Lockett not getting any younger, the Seahawks will likely try to move the receiver this offseason. Realistically, by the time this team can compete again, Lockett will be out of his prime and will be a declining asset.
Lockett just signed a sizable deal last season as well, further adding to the reason to trade the veteran. Any team acquiring him would only take on a minimal first-year cap hit due to how his contract is structured but would be on the hook for the remainder of his deal. The Seahawks would be clearing cap space out for the long term which makes sense given the current state of their roster.
In terms of compensation, I can’t see Lockett getting a huge trade offer. At his age and cost, teams will likely hold back a little as they don’t want to give up too much for an older receiver. That said, a third-round pick could be considered as well as a second-round pick that involves some Seahawks picks getting moved as well. Don’t be surprised to see the talented slot receiver on the move this offseason.
