The Dallas Cowboys appear ready to move on from Amari Cooper and there could be some teams ready to make a trade for him ahead of free agency
NFL free agency officially begins on March 16 but there will be the odd “legal tampering” period before that where teams can begin negotiating with players which begins on March 14. One name that could be involved in some of those talks is Amari Cooper who is currently with the Dallas Cowboys.
While Cooper is under contract, there’s a belief that Dallas will be moving on in order to save some money against the cap. A release is possible but Cooper could also be dealt ahead of free agency.
Here, we look at that possibility and name three last-minute landing spots for the talented wideout.
Amari Cooper Landing Spot No. 3: Kansas City Chiefs
The AFC West was already stacked before Russell Wilson was added to the Denver Broncos. Now with Wilson and Justin Herbert in the AFC West — and Khalil Mack joining the Chargers as well — the Kansas City Chiefs suddenly have a lot of competition.
In order to keep up with the moves being made by their divisional rivals, the Chiefs should look into adding Amari Cooper to the mix. As it stands now, they have Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce but even with them, there were times their offense got stagnant, including against the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.
Adding Cooper would help them go big and try to bring in another ring. They’ve already cleared some space and would need to free up more, but it would be well worth it.
