The Dallas Cowboys are apparently willing to move on from La’el Collins and if that’s true, here are three teams that could be interested

Ahead of free agency, the Dallas Cowboys are one of the teams trying to trim some money from their salary cap.

The suddenly overly-frugal front office has been rather inactive when it comes to targeting big-name free agents but they still like to sign their own guys. And with several starters — including Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson, and Randy Gregory — all needing new deals, Dallas is trying to see where they can shed some dollars.

They’re apparently considering releasing Amari Cooper but that’s not going to be enough as they’re also actively shopping La’el Collins according to Ian Rapoport.

If Dallas does end up moving on from Collins, these three teams make the most sense.

Dallas Cowboys: Collins trade partner No. 3: Chicago Bears

Last year, Justin Fields had a heck of a time staying in the pocket. The Chicago Bears rookie quarterback dealt with a rough offensive line. In fact, his very first start came in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns, and Fields was sacked nine times, including 4.5 from Myles Garrett alone.

If Chicago wants their young quarterback to find success, they need to do something about their line, and adding a proven veteran such as Collins could be a solid start.

He doesn’t man the blindside, which is where teams usually invest heavily when they have a young quarterback but the right side can be just as important. Not only that, but the contract for Collins won’t be an issue at all for a team that has a quarterback on his rookie contract and just shed plenty of cap space with their Khalil Mack trade.
