Adam Thielen destination no. 2: Las Vegas Raiders

Most 2022 NFL Mock drafts have the Raiders taking a wide receiver within the first three picks — who can blame them? Derek Carr won despite a horrid wide receiving core. They have a great running game, thanks to Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake.

What they need is some guys at wide receiver to exploit defenses. DeSean Jackson is what he is even at his age, and Darren Waller can’t do it all by himself.

Trading for Adam Thielen will give Carr the best wideout he’s had since Amari Cooper. The Vikings wide receiver will dominate in a pass-heavy offense with a better quarterback in Derek Carr. They’d need to add another weapon on the outside via draft, but at least they won’t have to give up a high pick to acquire Thielen.

Adam Thielen destination no. 1: New England Patriots

The days of plugging in wide receivers into their offense and getting the best out of them are long gone. That left when Tom Brady went to the Bucs and, even more so, not that Josh McDaniels left to coach the Los Vegas Raiders. Mac Jones had a solid rookie season, but he could be better with a veteran wide receiver like Adam Thielen.

New England runs a run-heavy timing-based offense. The former undrafted free agent is the ideal fit for such a scheme. The Pats can trade the N’keal Harry and a pick to land a guy who will boost their passing game.

Bill Belichick is struggling to reclaim a division he owned for decades. Adding a reliable wideout to help his young quarterback could do wonders for his offense.
