With free agency set to start, here is a look at one free agent per position that will be the best value from this class.

Free agency is a time of excess in the NFL as teams try to spend their excess cap space in order to lure big names to their team.

While landing that huge name is good one paper, free agency is more often won but snagging the underrated veteran on a cheaper deal who can still contribute. 2022 is filled with these types of players.

Here is one free agent at each position that will be a great value for whatever team signs them.

NFL Free agency QB: Jacoby Brissett

It is hard to find a name on the free agency market at quarterback that will likely be a true value option. Even backup quarterbacks get paid well more often than not, and the same is likely to be said about the upcoming class in 2022. Even middling names like Mitchell Trubisky are potentially set to earn moderate-sized deals.

While Jacoby Brissett won’t wow anyone as a passer, he has proven in the past to be a safe and consistent option for an offense if called upon. While he has plenty of starting experience, his ideal role at this point is either a transitional quarterback or a top backup to push whoever is starting.

While names like Trubisky and the other top options may get signed to 10 plus million dollars a season, Brissett should come in far lower than that. He will likely play for somewhere around 5 million a year as he did with the Dolphins last season. While he won’t wow anyone as a quarterback, he is good enough to start and should be cheap when signed.
