The Jacksonville Jaguars spent a boatload of money on the wide receiver position and could trade Laviska Shenault as a result. Where will he land?

The Jacksonville Jaguars spent a boatload of money on wide receivers Christian Kirk and Zay Jones in 2022 NFL Free Agency.

As a result, it sounds like they are open to trading former second-round pick Laviska Shenault, a promising young player who shockingly didn’t have a single touchdown in the 2021 season.

While Deebo Samuel has thrived in a versatile role with the San Francisco 49ers, Shenault wasn’t able to get anything going in his second NFL season despite having a similar projection coming out of Colorado in 2020.

The Jaguars may have lost their leverage by signing both Kirk and Jones in free agency, but Shenault should still command a decent return.

Which teams could go after Laviska Shenault in a trade?

1. Atlanta Falcons

Is there any team in the NFL that needs wide receiver help more than the Atlanta Falcons?

Times are desperate with Atlanta, which is now apparently hoping to have a legitimate shot at acquiring Deshaun Watson in a trade.

They will obviously need most all of their assets to acquire Watson if that’s the plan, but who knows at this point what Laviska Shenault would actually net the Jaguars in a trade?

The Falcons traded away Julio Jones last offseason. Calvin Ridley is suspended for the entire 2022 season for gambling on games last year. Russell Gage is a free agent.

The cupboard is bare in Atlanta right now, especially with Cordarrelle Patterson also an unrestricted free agent.

Since they have a proof of concept at this point, maybe the Falcons would acquire Shenault and give him the exact same role they gave to Patterson last year.
