Laviska Shenault landing spot no. 2: Minnesota Vikings

One thing you can always look for when projecting trades and signings is connections on coaching staffs around the league.

It doesn’t always turn out that guys go where they have coaching connections, but the Minnesota Vikings could be a favorable destination for Laviska Shenault, who would get the opportunity to reunite with his former wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell.

McCardell is known around the league as one of the best receiver coaches in the business and he was obviously part of the team drafting Shenault back in 2020.

Shenault came into the league in the vaunted 2020 wide receiver class which also included Vikings Pro Bowl receiver Justin Jefferson, who, up to this point, has been arguably the best receiver from that great class.

There have been some rumblings that the Vikings could be trying to trade Adam Thielen due to their salary cap situation, and if Thielen is traded, perhaps Laviska Shenault could be brought in to pair up with Jefferson.

The Vikings’ depth at wide receiver is not very good and trading Thielen would open up a pretty substantial need for them regardless.

It would be fun to see what Shenault could do in Kevin O’Connell’s offense with a solid QB in Kirk Cousins throwing him the ball.
