Laviska Shenault landing spot no. 3: New Orleans Saints

If one of the NFC South teams winds up acquiring Deshaun Watson, they are going to need to surround him with some better weapons.

Yes, Michael Thomas should be back for the 2022 season. Alvin Kamara will be back.

With that said, the Saints lack a true threat besides those guys in their offensive arsenal. If they acquire Deshaun Watson in a trade, we’ll have to wait and see what kind of assets are left to use in deals, but adding a player like Laviska Shenault would be fun to see.

Shenault obviously has the ability to make an impact at a variety of positions and we know the Saints have been very experimental with Taysom Hill in recent years.

I’m not saying Shenault would take his place, but maybe eventually he could. There were times when he was at Colorado that Shenault was lining up as a Wildcat QB, he lined up as an in-line tight end, he lined up as a traditional running back, slot receiver, outside receiver.

It wouldn’t surprise me if, at one point, he was the one calling plays out there in Boulder.

Shenault has incredible versatility and playmaking skills in space. If the Saints acquire a big-time QB like Deshaun Watson, they are going to need to supplement their weapons on offense and Shenault could be a decent buy-low option for them.
