Underrated NFL Free Agent: CB — Rasul Douglas
What a revelation Douglas was for Green Bay. After up-and-down stints with Philadelphia and Carolina, the former West Virginia Mountaineer had a career year with five INTs, two pick-6s, and 13 passes defended.
Douglas’ advanced numbers back up his ascent — the fifth-year pro had career-lows in passer rating allowed (44.5) and completion rate (50%) when targeted. The unfortunate thing for him is that the Packers have a tight wallet on their hands and also need to re-sign Jaire Alexander as he plays out the last year of his rookie deal.
So could Douglas be on the move? It almost seems likely at this point, especially with some of the decisions Green Bay had to make on Monday, as starters Za’Darius Smith and Billy Turner were both let go.
Douglas could benefit from playing for a zone-heavy team that allows him to play off coverage. His length at 6-foot-2, 209-pounds, and his ball skills, should boost his prospects for landing a big deal. Be on the lookout for Douglas to cash out very soon.
Potential landing spots: Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Chargers
