NFL Free agency: When will we see Jimmy Garoppolo movement?

The next quarterback domino to fall seems to be Deshaun Watson, but when will we begin to see movement with Jimmy Garoppolo?

In a shocking turn of events, Russell Wilson ended up getting traded to the Denver Broncos.  Aaron Rodgers is returning to the Packers, and it seems like Deshaun Watson is about to be traded, but what about Jimmy Garoppolo?

Obviously, Jimmy G is not close to the tier of quarterback that Wilson, Rodgers, and Watson are, but he’s surely set to be on the move as the 49ers never got over the hump with him.  It should be Trey Lance’s time for the Bay Area.

However, the market with Garoppolo seems to have gotten a bit quiet as free agency has begun.

As the Watson market has heated up, the main focus appears to be where Deshaun Watson will land.  Perhaps this is a situation where teams who have expressed some interest in Jimmy G will wait and see how the Watson situation ends.

Apparently, he is stuck between the Falcons and Saints, two NFC South teams.

The Saints make more sense than the Falcons for Watson, but he will get the final say over his future.

A team that has been somewhat linked to Jimmy G has been the Indianapolis Colts.

So, in a crazy situation, Deshaun Watson could choose to go to Atlanta, and the Falcons would then have to find a new home for Matt Ryan.

Could the Colts then acquire Matt Ryan from the Falcons?

It’s possible.  Matt Ryan is better than Jimmy Garoppolo, so it would make sense, and perhaps that is what the Colts are currently waiting for.

The Cleveland Browns have been lightly linked to Garoppolo, apparently wanting an “adult” at quarterback.

Baker Mayfield has been a bit inconsistent during his career, having solid years in his rookie and third seasons, and having bad years during his second and fourth seasons.

Could the Browns acquire Jimmy G in a trade?  Possible.  They would then have to find a new home for Baker Mayfield, perhaps on the Seahawks, Lions, or even Texans.

There is still a lot of movement left with the quarterback market.

I honestly think Deshaun Watson will end up choosing the Saints.  I think, from there, the Indianapolis Colts would then try and make a deal for Jimmy Garoppolo, seeing as they don’t have a viable starter on board.

Or, in a crazier situation, Could the Browns send Baker Mayfield to the Colts, and acquire Jimmy G themselves?

There are a ton of possibilities, I do find it interesting nonetheless that there hasn’t been much news with Jimmy Garoppolo.
