Green Bay Packers mock draft post-Davante Adams trade
The Green Bay Packers have traded away superstar wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. What will they do with their new picks?
After all of the offseason drama and questions about whether or not Aaron Rodgers would return to the Green Bay Packers, general manager Brian Gutekunst pulled off a shocking trade.
It wasn’t Rodgers, who re-signed to a four-year deal with the Packers and set an NFL record as the highest-paid player in league history on an annual basis. It was star wide receiver Davante Adams, who is fulfilling apparently a lifelong dream of playing for the Raiders and also getting the chance to play with his old college teammate Derek Carr.
And now, we all await Aaron Rodgers’ next comments with bated breath. Are we sure he signed that contract?
Green Bay Packers now have to move on without Davante Adams
Apparently, Adams wasn’t a fan of getting the franchise tag. Some believed that Rodgers was waiting to make his decision because he was trying to help force the Packers into re-signing Adams to a long-term deal.
It was reported shortly before the franchise tag deadline that the Packers and Adams hadn’t spoken for a long time on a contract extension, but it seems the Packers made a recent push to get him back and even offered more money than the Raiders.
This move obviously reflects poorly on the Packers and it puts a major black eye on their offseason as a whole.
How do they move forward from here? They’ve acquired the Raiders’ first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft as well as their second-round pick.
Let’s take a look at the first three rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft for the Packers and how they could use their new pick arsenal to upgrade the roster.
