Green Bay Packers 2022 mock draft: 2nd round, pick 59

Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa

The Green Bay Packers have one of the best offensive line coaches in the NFL in Adam Stenavich, who was actually promoted this past offseason to offensive coordinator with the departures of both Nathaniel Hackett (Denver Broncos) and Luke Getsy (Chicago Bears).

Stenavich’s promotion won’t cause the offensive line to be forsaken, however.

With one of the best developers of offensive line talent in the game, the risk/reward selection of a player like Tyler Smith could make a lot of sense for the Packers if he’s available at the back end of the second round.

An outstanding athlete who plays with a mean streak, Smith could pencil in as the Packers’ starting right tackle as a rookie if all goes well.

He may need some time to develop and may not start as a rookie, but the need is certainly there for the Packers with the team letting go of veteran Billy Turner during free agency.

Through the first two rounds of the draft, armed with four selections among the first 59, the Packers managed to get a number of elite athletes at critical positions of need, and they still have one more top-100 pick to go…
