Green Bay Packers 2022 mock draft: 3rd round, 92nd pick

Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati

There’s no doubt about the fact that it’s going to take a village to replace Davante Adams.

Adams has been so heavily favored by Aaron Rodgers in recent years, it’s hard to fathom what the Green Bay offense will look like when he’s not in it.

Even after taking Christian Watson in the first round of this mock draft, the Packers go after another elite athlete at the wide receiver position at the back end of round three and snag Alec Pierce, one of the hottest prospects rising in the offseason circuit right now.

Pierce has an ideal frame at 6-foot-3, 211 pounds and averaged 17.5 yards per reception in his time with the Cincinnati Bearcats.

He became one of Desmond Ridder’s favorite targets and absolutely blew up the Scouting Combine.

Packers mock draft recap (three rounds)

1a. Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
1b. Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State
2a. Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State
2b. Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa
3. Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati

This draft class leans heavily on the offensive side of the ball but that’s necessary after trading your best skill player and cutting your starting right tackle.

The Packers have also not re-signed Robert Tonyan as of the time this is being written, so there are three key starting spots available offensively.

This team has some nice ammunition with five picks in the top 100 and they have the flexibility to maneuver around as they see fit.

Aaron Rodgers may not be happy about losing Davante Adams, but he certainly could get used to the kind of speed and athleticism this type of draft class would bring.
