Dallas Cowboys Round 2 Pick: Jamaree Salyer, G, Georgia

The Dallas Cowboys watched as Connor Williams left in free agency, signing with the Miami Dolphins. He and La’el Collins are both going to need to be replaced as the Cowboys also released their starting right tackle.

Terence Steele is likely going to take the place of Collins — and had done so at times in 2021. As for the left guard spot, that’s where Jamaree Salyer comes in. Salyer is massive at 6-foot-3 and 321-pounds and could help Dallas get back to their road-grading ways.

He’s also got experience at all five positions and with limited gameday rosters, such experience can be incredibly valuable.

Dallas Cowboys Round 3 Pick: Phidarian Mathis, DT, Alabama

Another year, another defensive tackle in Round 3. It’s kind of becoming a tradition as they took Neville Gallimore in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft and Osa Odighizuwa in the third round last year. And so far, it seems they have done well for themselves as each player has been productive when called upon.

Now, they return to the well final round on day two with yet another defensive tackle, this time going with Phidarian Mathis of Alabama. Mathis is a big man at 6-foot-4 and 310-pounds and had nine sacks in his final season with the Crimson Tide. He’s been somewhat overlooked in this class and Dallas can capitalize should he slide to them here.
