Dallas Cowboys Round 5 Pick: Tyquan Thornton, WR, Baylor

Cedrick Wilson is a former late-round pick that developed into a real weapon for Dallas. Seeing him leave following his breakout campaign is tough but Dallas needs to move on and start developing the next prospect.

They do have Simi Fehoko who they took in Round 5 last season but instead of banking on him to break out, they add another developmental player here in Tyquan Thornton. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because the Baylor wideout made sound waves at the Scouting Combin when he ran a 4.28 in the 40-yard dash.

He’s incredibly thin, which is a concern, but the fact that he can take the top off the defense makes him worth a flier here as Dallas looks for another diamond in the rough who can beat defenses deep.

Dallas Cowboys Round 5 Pick: Zaquandre White, RB, South Carolina

Zaquandre White moved from linebacker to running back and ended up developing into a solid runner for the South Carolina Gamecocks. This past season, he had 583 yards while averaging 6.6 yards per attempt.

He runs upright but has great explosiveness and most importantly, he has very little tread on his tires. White is an underrated prospect who is still learning the position and could spend 2022 learning the pace of the NFL game with eyes on a bigger role in 2023 and beyond.
