Where will Baker Mayfield play in 2022?

2021 Team: Cleveland Browns

What a roller coaster ride it’s been for incumbent quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns. The team was very outwardly trying to court the services of Deshaun Watson to commit to playing for the team.

That open pursuit of Watson rubbed Mayfield the wrong way. He felt so disrespected he penned an open letter to his fans. He requested the Browns trade him shortly after that.

The team, after hearing they were out of the running to land Watson, stated they would not be honoring Mayfield’s request to be traded.

Then, a day or so later— wouldn’t you know it— the Browns landed Watson in a trade. Mayfield is officially on the trading block.

NFL rumors state Mayfield’s preferred destination is with the Indianapolis Colts. Will the Browns do right by the QB and accommodate his request? Will they do so at the expense of trading him to a team within their own conference?

I think after the way everything has gone down, they’ll honor his request and trade him to the Colts.

Prediction: Indianapolis Colts

Where will Marcus Mariota play in 2022?

2021 Team: Las Vegas Raiders

Marcus Mariota is one of the top remaining quarterbacks left in the free agent market now that Mitchell Trubisky and Teddy Bridgewater are off the market.

Mariota has the skills and discipline to be a starter. He’s learned a lot in Vegas behind Derek Carr and will be a steady hand for any team in need of a quarterback. He hasn’t had many opportunities in Las Vegas to play, but in 5 years with the Tennessee Titans, Mariota threw 77 touchdowns and 44 interceptions. He also had 1,399 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground during his time with the Titans.

The best fit for Marcus Mariotta is going to be with the Seattle Seahawks. Mariotta can beat out Drew Lock to be the starter in Week 1. Seattle could sign Mariotta to be the starter for the next year or two while they punt on drafting a quarterback until the 2023 NFL Draft.

Prediction: Seattle Seahawks
