29. Miami Dolphins (via San Francisco 49ers): Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa
Mike McDaniel is looking to put his stamp on the Miami Dolphins as he’s already added an underrated receiver in Cedrick Wilson and two capable running backs in Raheem Mostert and Chase Edmonds. Now in this mock draft, he starts to patch up the offensive line.
Michael Deiter was one of the lowest graded starting centers in the NFL last season which leads to Miami bringing in Tyler Linderbaum from Iowa. Easily the best center in this class, Linderbaum is praised for his toughness as well as his football intelligence.
He not only improves the center position but helps the entire line with his ability to read a defense and make adjustments pre-snap.
30. Kansas City Chiefs: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
The Kansas City Chiefs offense already got a bit of a boost when they added JuJu Smith-Schuster in free agency. However, they thought the same thing when they added Sammy Watkins and while he helped, he was never as good as they hoped.
In this mock, they decide to cover all bases as they also bring in Jahan Dotson in the first round. Last season, there were times the offense went flat, and adding two wideouts who can make plays — especially Dotson who can get downfield in a hurry — should help alleviate those concerns.
