2022 NFL mock draft: Second round

33. Jacksonville Jaguars: Zion Nelson, OT, Miami

After going edge early, the Jaguars now add depth to the offensive line with Zion Nelson from Miami.

34. Detroit Lions: Daxton Hill, S, Michigan

Two picks after taking Desmond Ridder, the Lions go back to the other side of the ball for Daxton Hill. A versatile weapon, Hill could greatly improve this secondary.

35. New York Jets Travis Jones, DT, Uconn

Travis Jones is a fringe Round 1 player and the Jets add him to their front line with the 35th pick in this mock — continuing their rebuild of the defense that started with their first two picks.

36. New York Giants: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

Trent McDuffie is a great player but he’s also been praised as another coach on the field. His addition to the Giants secondary will be huge.

37. Houston Texans: Logan Hall, EDGE, Houston

Houston is in the midst of a major rebuild and adding pieces everywhere will be important. Here, they add a talented defensive end in Logan Hall, who can play on the edge as well.

38. New York Jets (via Carolina Panthers): George Pickens, WR, Georgia

There were some steps made by New York receivers last season, especially Elijah Moore. However, they can still use playmakers and George Pickens can be that.

39. Chicago Bears: Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn

The Chicago Bears’ first pick comes in Round 2 and they decide to go for Roger McCreary out of Auburn. A great athlete who can play both inside and out, McCreary could be a mainstay in the Chicago secondary.

40. Seattle Seahawks (via Denver Broncos): Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina

Drew Lock will get a shot with the Seahawks but they could also look for a rookie. Sam Howell could be a solid fit after he raised his stock in offseason workouts.
