5 Davante Adams replacement options for the Green Bay Packers
No. 3 Best option to replace Davante Adams: Adam Thielen, Vikings
This is a less than likely option. The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings are enemies. So, the likelihood of the Vikings trading Adam Thielen to an inter-division opponent is slim to none.
However, draft picks talk. Is Thielen worth a first-round pick, given he’s on the other side of 30? For most teams, the answer is probably no.
For the Packers, the answer should be yes.
As mentioned, they’d be trading for a division rival’s player, so they’ll have to up the ante a bit.
The Packers will get a long boundary wideout which can make clutch catches. He fought through injuries but still managed to put up double-digit touchdowns. As a route runner, he can do some of the things Adams could in terms of snapping at the route stem. He does his best work in the red zone, where he’ll kill defensive backs with quickness on his route running.
While he’s not a physical wideout, he does a great job in the middle of the field, giving the quarterback a reliable target. The former undrafted prospect is a plug-and-play replacement for Adams in terms of volume and red-zone ability.
